HOW WATER BENEFITS OR HELP KIDNEYS?
Our bodies are primarily water. We are a bunch of liquid held together by bones, muscles and skin. Ideally the average person needs 64 ounces of water a day. I know that sounds like a lot. But if you spread it out throughout the day, it is a lot easier then you think. The good thing is that there are all kinds of flavored water available.
Why do we need water? Well first off water helps flush out the bad stuff in our bodies. It cleans out the blood so to speak. It helps to stay healthy by getting rid of all the yucky things we are exposed to on a daily basis.
If we don't drink enough water we get dehydrated. Dehydration can cause dizzieness, fatigue and confusion. It also causes dry skin and irritability. All of these are not pleasant.
Our kidneys are like a machine. They get all this dirt that our body has carried to them in liquid form. Then the kidneys sift through all the dirt and help put back into our bodies cleaner liquid. The dirty liquid is then tossed over to the bladder. We feel the urge to go when the bladder starts to get full.
Your kidneys can only work with so much. If there isn't much fluid coming in, it is a lot harder to clean out the yucky stuff. It's almost like having a clogged up drain. The kidneys will then hold the fluid in there until enough stores up to start churning again. There are elements in the kidneys that make tiny little crystals. These aren't the good crystals like your fine china. These crystals get together and stick to each other if you don't have much fluid in your kidneys. The next thing you know you're down on your knees howling like a baby because you have developed a kidney stone. Now if you go back to drinking lots of water your body will painfully pass the kidney stone.
